I recently had my rear Pirelli P Zero's replaced with the same tire. Once I got it home I realized that on one side I had the cool Red lettering that says P Zero on one side but not the other. Did the shop screw up? Did they put them on backwards? Anyone else have this problem?

According to Tire Rack, most, but not all P-Zeros have the red lettering.
There are 4 P-Zero tires: 1) P-Zero, 2) P-Zero Nero, 3) P-Zero RFT, and 4 P-Zero Rosso. Are all 4 tires the same P-Zero model? Did you get the asymetrical or the directional tires? Maybe they installed a couple of the tires wrong side out.

The Rossos do have red the marking. Sorry to suggest the obvious but do read the sidewalls on both sides and check if they are the same.
BTW... the same type of N-rated tire should be on both axles.
It says Rosso on the sidewall but no red lettering. My guess is they installed the one tire wrong side out. So does this mean the tire is not going the correct way? For anyone that can remember is the red lettering on both sides or just one? Obviously if the tire is going the wrong way I need to take it back, if the tire is going the right way how big of a deal should I make of this?
Mine are off for winter so really easy to look at. They are Rosso and say PZero in red on the outside. On the inside there is no red.
I would conclude that your tire was mounted wrong. However they are symmetrical (not directional) so it probably doesn't matter for driving, just for looks.

Not all Rosso's have red lettering. Some sizes don't. I had P-Zero Rosso's on my SLK55 and they had no red lettering. All the asymmetric wheels will say "outside" on one side to ensure they are mounted correctly.
Never liked them though. Quick wear, poor grip. Wouldn't buy them again. I replaced them with Michelin PS2 and felt they were superior in every way.
My wifes CLK 550 with the AMG pkg has P-Zero's not the Rosso different more chunky tread pattern and they are really nice tires. Wear and low road noise is really good.
I have the Rosso's not a "horrible" tire, but I have heard that the Bridgestone's are superior not sure that any tire on a p-car driven hard like I do mine, however, are going to get much more than 8-10K on the rears I burned through my first set o' rears at 9K, but that was with two DE events yahoo....!!
Yep, I had them and all 4 had the red lettering outside. I'd find out why they mounted them wrong in the first place and if they even have enough experience to do tires on a Porsche.
I switched to Bridgestone RE050A's after the Rosso. When the Rosso's got near the end, they became very noisy and flat spotted like all hell.
The Bridgestones are a whole lot less than PS/2's which are so damn costly that unless you track the car on weekends, I see no reason to spend upwards of $550 a tire!
Take the car back, and have the tires mounted correctly.
"While most Pirelli PZero Rosso tires wear a red "PZero" logo, selected sizes simply feature the "Rosso" logo as part of the embossed black sidewall styling along with the black letters.
Reliable way to find out if they are mounted wrong is to see if the tire says inside or outside on the outside wall.
