I've reviewed all the previous posts about child carseats, but I don't see what I'm looking for. I need a booster seat for my 7yr old, and the only thing I can find that is "guaranteed" to fix/work in my cabriolet is the Porsche OEM booster.
Are there any other rear seat boosters that will fit in a 997 cab? I measured it today, and the width is only about 13". Also, do you remove the seat cushion or not?
This seat fits perfectly in the back of a 997 Cab. My almost 6 year old has been using it since he was 3 and he has plenty more room to use for a few more years. The back can be removed and just the booster seat bottom used when your child is big enough to avoid having the seatbelt come up toward his neck.
I remove the seat bottom when using it. You don't have to do that in order for it to fit, but it avoids leaving any imprints from the booster on the leather.
My son loves the ride and always prefers to ride in the back of my 911 versus his mom's Cayenne!
I have the Porsche plus booster and as you'd expect it fits perfectly leaving the back seat in or out. I find my daughter has a little more leg room without the seat pad. Besides, it says Porsche on it and goes with the decor
Thanks for all your info. I'm in Ontario, and the searches I've done for the Fisher Price booster only return stores that only ship to the US. There are lots of "out of stock" stores as well.
Does the Porsche booster allow you to take the back off?
I have two Fisher Price units. I have the Recaros in the Range Rover, they are way to big to fit in the 997cab. I also removed the bottom seat cushion.
the porsche booster fits perfectly in my 997S coupe. i took the seat backs off to give the kids a bit more room. the base is narrower than the other boosters we have
The Combi Dakota (backless booster) works perfect for my 7 year-olds. Perfect shoulderbelt placement w/ factory seat back providing fore-aft head support. I'll post some pics when available.
I have a C2S coupe and my 7yo son rides in a Britax Parkway - it fits very well, has side impact protection and I found it online for about $50.
For a three year old, I highly recommend that you buy something with a 5 point harness, even if a booster says it is OK for a 3yo. After extensive searching I am pretty sure that you will not do any better, especially considering that a cab is even harder to fit than a coupe, than a Safeguard Go seat. It is very thin and will give a child more legroom than any other seat on the market period - this is because of its design, AND it allows the use of a safer 5 pt harness up to 60 pounds or 52 inches in height. My 4yo is still in the safeguard and has plenty of room to grow. Proper install of a Safeguard Go is very important - it must be tethered behind the seat, which means cutting along pre cut lines in the carpet and the foam underneath. I can post a picture if you need one. Here is a link to the Safeguard Go. It is about $200.
