Short of replacing the valve stem, which I would prefer not to do, anyone have any ideas? Is there a tool that can re-thread the valve stem? The tire has 2,200 miles on it, so it may be a while before I have to change it.

Thanks.
Use thread seal tape.

I have an extra valve stem for TPMS 997 - PM me with an address and I'll mail it - assuming of course I can find it - just moved.
