Holding onto your car................
FYI, there is an 'excellent' tech article in the 12/08 Excellence mag on the M96/M97 engine. Really good over view of the problems typically associated with these motors [every motor has its own set of problems and the conclusion is that this is a good engine on balance - I don't want to get anyone nervous ;-)]. That said, forewarned is forearmed, or something like that: Required reading for those who expect to be running the same 5+ years from now.

Wait till the magazine is off the new stands and I will then scan it and place a link to a PDF.
Sorry - Excellence is trying to sell magazines - I don't want to take any sales away from them (plus it really is a good rag)...

Their sister mag Sports Car International just went under. I'd hate for the same fate to befall Excellence.
Unfortunately, I'm yet to receive my latest issue. Hopefully today.

They transferred all remaining subscriptions to Excellence... but we will not see our first issue before the end of the year, so I bought mine on the stands....

I am bummed about Sports Car International. I was a subscriber. I can think of no better multi-marque enthusiast magazine published in North America.

Pete - I think all of us in business understand. As John says above you have a really good rag. ;-)
Now, about that article, the only item that freaked me somewhat was the connecting rod bolt failure in engines used "in DE and other track-day-style events". A follow up article based on continued experiences and with the same contributors a year or two in the future would be most appreciated.
Thx.

Since I'm already a subscriber to both Excellence and SCI, they've transferred the remaining two years on my subscription to Forza. While I think F cars are great, I don't really care to get Forza so I'm trying to get them to simply lengthen my subscription to Excellence.
