This is incorrect. According to their very own warranty booklet, Porsche will not warranty any defects or malfunctions that occurs during or as a result of a car being tracked. This is very different from voiding a warranty simply for taking a car on the track. I have had friends who have tracked their cars and have had particular claims denied (ones where it was obvious that it had happened on a track), but have never seen a warranty voided entirely simply for setting forth on a track.
I have heard rumors, however, that other manufacturers aren't as "open-minded," so if you're not driving a P-car, YMMV.
Certainly, Porsche could deny quite a number of claims if they chose to because the car had seen a track day. The could point to the language in the book and just say no. Or they could take a longer term view.
They could have denied several of my claims because I track my Boxster from time to time -- as if a tech couldn't take a quick look at the car and know how it's been driven, my car has 6pt harnesses and that kinda gives the game away right? But they've stood behind their product. Porsche, and particularly the service advisers I worked with in Atlanta, have been more concerned that I enjoy my car than nitpicking over the language of the warranty.
That treatment is a large part of why last year I bought at 911 at twice the price of my Boxster.
Jrotsaert, I am not sure it was 5000 hours on the car now. I saw the paper work very quickly and I thought is showed 5000 hours but based on your math I am sure I did not see it correctly. It may be more like 500 hours. That would seam to be more reasonable. Sorry to miss lead.

997s po box. Wondering if that oil pan will help my oil loss on the track. I lose 1-2 qts per track day (150 miles) and get a big puff white smokeat start up at end of track day. Not elsewhere. Engine has been checked and being monitored. 13k miles 997 s. . Got it cpo'ed from sewickley and a guy names j smith (dc440may know him he got a gt3 rs and tracks at beaver run. ). Anyhow no one can explain oil loss and of course I am always worried about engine failure. One sight suggested that high lateral g forces can cause this phenomenon. I instruct with r compounds. Do you thinks 51 oil pan might help? Thanks. Mk

Out of curiosity do you check the dip stick or just read the gauge. I would be worried that the gauge might be inaccurate...
yeah no freakin dipstick....had the oil separator changed warranty and compressions checked and everything looks good except the white smoke and oil loss..i had another 2005 997s tracked it about 20 times and never had smoke or oil loss....apparently some burn oil and some don't....
