Opinions on this C2S, question.
I'm interested in this C2S. Item number 220285583722
I just sold a 996 so I am familiar with most things.
What confuses me about this car are two items.
The options list includes 19" Carrera Classic wheels. I don't think that is what appears on the car. Right? Those are lobsters - not sure the official name.
And, it advertises pccb brakes. But in the pic they are red. I thought all pccb were yellow?
Any thing else stand out? I love the terra interior, which is what interests me, but these inconsistencies worry me.
Also, when an ad says "Navigation ready" what is that exactly?
Thanks for the help.

Right. Which is what worries me. The original window sticker options list say Carrera Classic at 2k. Sort of odd that they would have been replaced at such low mileage. Just curious. Thanks for the help.

Not odd that the wheels have been replaced - could have happened at the original sale or the owner may have preferred the lobster forks. Assuming the carfax is clean, there is probably no reason to worry about the wheels if the size is correct and the value is right.
The PCCB does concern me since those are big reds and not PCCBs as you noticed. Makes me think the window sticker is incorrect (wrong car).
Nav ready means no nav. Also no heated seats which might be a concern in DC.
I think a conversation with the seller is in order before any bidding on this one.

Those are not Carrera Classics, no PCCB's, the option list claims a rear wiper that I don't see and a leather steering column that looks to be plastic from the angle shown. Check the VIN, could they have the wrong car for that window sticker? What color is the alcantara headliner? From my perspective, if they don't give you a really good explanation and a steep discount off the asking price I would run away. I'm uncomfortable buying a P-car from a used car dealer even if they don't have these discrepancies. I say keep looking. There have got to be plenty of Black/Terra Cotta examples out there. GL

Thanks all. Too many cars out there to chase one that has sketchy details like this.
Shame. The actual car from the window sticker is exactly what I want.

Even with the discrepencies it still looks like a good deal. Miss stating the wheels is no big deal. The brakes is another thing...
Ask the questions of the seller that you asked us and armed with a little knowledge you may get a better deal. But, be ready to walk away. YMMV

If a legit sale these things should be correctly stated. Clearly, it is not being sold by the owner who should know all the things that are questionable. Time to dial them up.

Thanks. I did contact them by email and they readily admitted that they listed it wrong.
It has since been updated, if you want to view it. It still says it has a rear wiper, which I don't see. I've had trouble finding what I want, so I may call and talk it over further.
On the nav question, if it has pcm, can the nav be added easily? In my searches I keep seeing "nav ready" as if it can be added without a lot of effort. Also, what about integrated mobile phone? - Does it need to say that specifically? Some say "telephone module". Or, is that a standard item?
Sorry about all the questions. I'll take a look at renntech too, I suspect they have many of these answers too.

Thank you. Big help.
Once again their ad doesn't jib. I'm out.
Didn't think it was going to be so hard to find terra interior. I've not seen it in person. Is it ugly?
I was also thinking a white car - also somewhat rare - except in GT3 form.
Thanks again for all the help.

Terra is difficult to find. In person it's gorgeous. Pictures don't do it justice; however it looks like they put some sort of 'conditioner' on the leather on that car; making it shiny. Looks like sh*t...what they've done to it.
White on Terra is nice. But darker colors w/ terra looks menacing.
We just got in a 09 C2S- bassalt with Terra/Blk two tone. Stunning.
