I don't know...last week I tried to buy a '08 Cayenne S with about 600 mi. from the local shop. Sticker was $76k, they knocked it down to $73k and then added back in almost $2k for that plastic bra crap they'd applied. This wasn't a good deal. I'd seen much better deals on the net and walked away tho I'd bought my '07 & '08 911 from them at MSRP - and I would have liked to have done a deal locally.

100% that was **** deal. Cayenne S's are NOT selling nearly even close to their potential due to the GTS.

Rich if you want a Pepper S or GTS; lemme know. I'll take care of you and ship it to you.

I get a sense a lot of people really aren't getting the significance of the problem... But, if you can afford the expense even if you lose a big portion of your stock portfolio value and house value (say, 25% *additional* losses on both), I suppose its not crazy to buy now. Might be a good idea to see the impact of the bailout deal, if any, if those types of losses will impact discretionary money.

Car sounds like an OK deal to me, esp. if the 09 changes don't thrill you. There may be ~$1-2K more you can get out of them, but I agree with Likemystoppie that the dealer will probably find a buyer at the quoted price.
