Default Pollen Filter

Does anyone have a "how to" on the replacing the cabin filter? Also, is there any plausible reason to buy the charcoal filter vs paper for twice the cost?

JQ-facing the car's front, with "hood" open, you'll notice the plastic cowling areas to the left (think battery access) and the "*****". Twist the ***** to release the cowling and you'll see the filter. The cowling strips that edge the hood near the fender are velcroed in place and easily removed. Take the strips out too. There's a "strap" like plastic piece that secures the filter Undo this. Then remove the filter. You'll have to play around with it a bit to get just the right angle to remove--but it will come out!

Personal preference WRT paper v/ charcoal I suppose

You can remove a screw as well to make it easier to get it out/in.

I always get th charcoal charged.. you dont get that socks smell when you're just using the fan(AC off/ Eco) to ventilate on humid days. Or when you're trailing a smoky diesel trucks.. you dont smell their exhaust.

You don't have to switch these out that often, so buy the better one each time.

Renntech.org has a nice post with pictures of how to do the switch, if you'd like that. Just do a search there and it will come up. It is a bit tricky to "parallel park" the filter back in place, but other than that it is an easy job that takes 10 mins or so. I got a charcoal filter rather than a paper one. You can find the OEM charcoal filter online for ~$30 at Driving Source and, I imagine, many other places.
