Upgrade 997 to Xenon's
My C4 did not come with the bi-Xenons - had them on my 996 and really miss them. In doing a web search, all I"m seeing are kits for 996's - none for 997's. Any recommendations on where to buy? Any real-world experience with the upgrade kits? Thanks.

The xenon's are 'self leveling'. I'm not 100% with Porsche, but I'm assuming there's a similar issue as with MB's. They're not wired for it. The computer won't recognize the lights. And they won't 'self level' as required by the USDOT.
I'm assuming those are the issues that you're running into- otherwise everyone would get xenon's after the fact.

Just buy some off ebay and install them. Plug and play for $950

You don't need self leveling as a DOT inspector will not be checking your car out.

Self leveling is there for a reason. In the US, with our road system standards, there are cases where you will be blinding the crap out of on-coming traffic possibly.
I'd imagine it takes more than just the lamps.. you need the power transformer as well, no? And then a wiring harness difference I suspect. It can probably be done, but would be rather expensive.... so unless you really, really want the xenon lights, stick with the halogens.
