Default Targa rear window/battery question

My '08 Targa rear window decided it didn't want to latch. I was about 60 miles from home when it did this, I managed to find a piece of clothesline that I used to tie it to the passenger seatbelt - it kept it closed for the drive home. The clothesline looks good, I'm amazed Porsche doesn't include it with the car. I of course used "specail sport clothesline", the standard line looked pretty tacky and I'm sure my car would have rejected it.

Anyway, my real question - I've got the Porsche battery charger. Without the rear window closed, the two rear lights inside stay on - will the charger supply enough juice to keep my battery going? or should I disconnect the battery? Even pushing down on the window so it "looks" closed doesn't do it, the lights must be tied into the latching mechanism. It's going to be a couple of days before I get it to the dealers.

FYI...the motor for the latching gizmo makes noises and grabs the window and pulls it down, but doesn't latch it.

I'm hoping while it's in there they can fix the flat tire sensor too, it's getting annoying. I can clear it by reseting the TPMS, but that's getting old everything I went to drive it.

Why not just pull the fuse to those lights?

Good idea - I always forget about fuses. I did discover tonight the lights went off, not sure how long they were on but eventually they went off - or the filaments burned out in them. I'll check tomorrow.

Default Easy or hard fix....not a problem. The important thing Porsche pays for it!

The latch is out of adjustment. Porsche will sort that out. The system will turn out all the lights within a few hours. (It's in the manual).
