xm radio to dension install - finally

I finally got an XM radio (roady xt) hooked up to my Dension unit in the trunk.
Here is what I did:
1.) found the grommet behind the battery. It is a little on the passenger side of the battery and a thick conduit of wires go through it. I used an xacto knife to cut a suitable hole in the grommet - it is pretty big. I did not have to remove the battery, although this would have made the job easier.
2.) ran the xm antenna through the grommet and placed the receptor end by the windshield wipers.
3.) ran a Belkin cable splitter throught the grommet. I hooked up the red and white marked ends into the aux cable from the dension, and the single end of the splitter to the xm radio.
3.) added a ground loop isolator to reduce noise. This connects between the Dension aux cable and the 2 ends of the splitter. This eliminated the whine I was hearing.
4.) for power I used the outlet on console on the passenger side. I may try connecting to a power source later.
Use the aux gw source on the Dension to head the xm radio. Sound is good. Tomorrow I will give it the acid test on my daily commute.
Thanks for the help I received from forum members on this.
