I just purchased a new 2008 997S. I have a question re: inactivity for more than 7 days. I know the owners manual describes what happens when a locked car is not started, the remote goes into standby,etc, etc.
However, I store my car in a locked, alarmed garage so I seldom lock the vehicle when it is in the garage.

My question is, what happens (if anything) to an unlocked vehicle after 7 or more days of inactivity?

 

I normally lock the car, so it will automatically go into that standby battery-save mode after certain days.

I also did the same on my 2000 986S. I only drove it once a month, and it always fired right up with its 7 yrs old original battery. I think that battery-save mode helped.

after 5 days, regardless if armed, the remote wont work until you put key in ignition.
