Default Need leather sample

Hi guys-
I am about to order a leather dye kit to clean up several scruff marks on my seat. I have tried with my dealer to get some leather (stone gray) to send to the dye company to match up the color. No luck with them . Any ideas ?
Thanks ....GR

Find out which upholsterer your dealer outsources interior/leather problems to and either go there yourself or go through the dealer. Those guys usually do a great job at matching colors.

Can't you find a little piece to snip under the rear of the seat? My kid loosened the plastic cover at the hinge and I think there is some excess back there.

Go into a dealership with a hot blond have her ask the salesmen questions while you slip into the seat of a car and snag a piece of leather from the showroom vehicle .........take pics and post on you tube

Default leather sample

GR:

We just had a huge ink stain (the tire guy did it) removed from the seat of my wife's A 4. I took it to a professional detailer and they cleaned and re dyed it for about $180. They had a whole board of different dye colours and we just matched one up to the seat.

My wife was delighted with the result; we thought we'd have to have the seats re covered.

Rinty's right GR .. good detailers are often magicians, not just car washers. ..and custom upholstery shops - both home and auto - are going to have tons of leather to look at.

Agree. Once when my older Porsche was in my mechanic's shop, they tore a 1" x .5" hole on the seat when worked inside the cabin. They were so sorry that they called in an unholstery specialist to repair the seat at their cost. Magically, after the repair I couldn't tell where the hole was.

Bring it to your local detailer/dealer/upholstery shop, they can take good care of it.

Regards,

Get a auto interior repair guy to look at it... All it takes is a little cleaning(prep) and then spray with leather dye.. No biggie.

Dealerships keep large leather samples around the showroom to show off interior option choices for customers. See if they will let you clip off a piece at the end of one.
