Yeah, it was a great pic, huh Dave. Don't know if it's still around.

Hey Ben, I'm intrigued by your new picture.

Finally narrowed it down to;

a) some cosmic birth/death of a star
b) a uni-cellular organism of sorts
c) a jellyfish
d) the view a tape-worm has looking outwards

Toss me a line here please........

I put my money on a nebula, so a 3 second search under "hubble nebula" and the "CAT" is out of the bag. (lol, the cat's eye nebula)

OC, nice choice.

Quote: I own a '99 996 and I'm experiencing frequent nosebleeds while driving, but only when my wife is in the car. I was wondering if there are any service bulletins on this or DIY solutions. I am visiting this forum to find out whether this issue is particular to 996's, or are any 997's drivers reporting similar problems. Thanks.
I read about this "nosebleed" thing one other time but the story was a little different. First of all the guy was driving a Volkswagen and was stopped at a railroad crossing. He said that before he noticed his nose was bleeding he remembered seeing a bright light. I'm not sure but it seems to me his wife was with him and was talking about the railroad warning lights were all blinking and the bells were ringing. She said she saw the light too.

I don't guess it is the same thing since you didn't mention any of that other stuff. Unfortunately for him, I don't think he ever found out for sure what happened.

Best of luck to you with your search for what is causing your problem.

It seems likely that this may be a medical issue or bad luck. I assume he has some kind of cancer of the nose, but it is difficult to be sure from the original post. Trying to determine an automotive cause for spontaneous internal bleeding seems, well, kind of dumb.

I'm not licenced to practice in your jurisdiction, but I would recommend holding the nose firmly for 5 to 10 minutes until bleeding stops, applying a nasal lubricant such as Secaris twice a day, and maintaining the humidity in your home. Do not pick your nose, and see a doctor if it recurs.

And don't blame your car!!!

Why do you pick your nose when your wife is in the car? Keep it moist, could be the dry air.

Well, I'm disappointed; I was hoping for the tapeworm.

Is there a thread somewhere, Ben, on "what creatures that dwell inside us see when they go for a walk"?

I'm no Doctor; but usually when you go to the Doctor, and you say "Doc, it hurts when I do this." The Dr's response is: "Don't DO that.".

So, DON'T drive with your wife in the car. -Simple!

There may well be. But I'm eating my lunch right now and I don't want to lose it should I come across such a thread.
