Final Repainted Caliper Pics
Summary....I:
1) Realized with dismay that using wheel cleaner with bad chemicals / improper alcohol levels had eaten away the factory-applied Porsche clearcoat and paint on my calipers, leaving me with milky-white/faded black calipers that looked terrible
2) Had the dealer remove them, high-pressure steam clean them in the Porsche dealer's shop (special new machine they had just got in), then send them to their trusted bodyshop for Porsche Guards Red powder coat painting and baking/curing in their ovens.
3) Ordered 4 of the 4-inch white Porsche caliper decals from Suncoast Porsche and bring to my dealer and have them installed while they have the wheels off. Note they are installed with the "Porsche" written "up" on front right/rear left and "down" on front left and rear right to match the "S" and Turbo brake patterns. (I maye have these reversed, but you get the idea)
4) Had the dealer apply two coats of special Porsche (or VHT) high-temperature caliper clearcoat paint and let dry overnight
5) Reconditioned the wheels with the P21S Wheel Cleaners (the ONLY thing that's touching my wheels except good ol' soap and water from now on!)
Picttures:
Lesson hard learned, but I doi like the result.

I had my calipers re-painted because they turned dark maroon, at least 1 did and the other was on it's way. My dealer did the Porsche sticker thing and in 3 weeks the white Porsche stickers have turned a blackish-brown. The stickers are not the way to go because they will turn color with heat very fast. The stickers where from Suncoast too.
Do you have any "before" pictures? I think my calipers look like crap, but I assumed that's just the way they are. But I bought the car 1.5 years old. So I don't know what they are supposed to look like.
They look virtually the same as the calipers on my Cayenne. Dull grey sides and dull black area where white Porsche logo is. Cayenne we bought new and never used wheel cleaner.

While I agree the sticker is backwards, I gotta say those wheels and calipers look new!
Nice job.
Is the stock lettering painted in white or stickers? I never noticed when looking up close - frankly, I'm not sure I cam tell.

Results look good but doing it at a dealer seems like calling room service for caviar at a Holiday Inn. ...but with no other, clear options?! It looks like a market for Snr. Bumper Plugs.
I agree with the P21S use. It works surprisingly well.

Yeah, we tried to match the Turbo caliper logo pointing and they are actually up on RF, LR and down on LF, RR (or vs, I forget), but we got the LR wrong here (should be pointing up to match the RF).
Oh well. Life is too short to worry about it now.
Total cost was more than I care to admit: ~$400 for each pair, but it's done and I'm happy.

The stickers will also turn brown and then black when heat builds up.
