Well, I just got the new Dension BTA-1500 bluetooth hands free kit installed, with the new and improved microphone again place in the stock postion within the steering column and completely invisible.
The upgrade is incredible, and a huge improvement over the BTA-1000. Now I have full phone functionality and can dial numbers using the keypad on the car. Pairing is easy, and sound quality is incredible.

TD, where exactly did you place the microphone on the steering column?
Where is your Dension mounted? I have mine up in the front trunk and will need to route the mic cable to the passenger compartment. Any suggestions?
I placed the microphone IN the steering column in the stock location. If you look at the top of your steering column, you will see two grids, one on each side. One side contains a microphone for the noise adjustment function of the Bose. I left that alone. The other side is for the stock telephone module microphone. I originally tried to use the stock microphone, but the impedence is wrong for the Dension unit. So I just put the Dension microphone into the stock location for the telephone module microphone. Voila . . . invisible and great functionality. Of course, you have to remove the steering column cover to install the mic.
My Dension is mounted in the front trunk, but the bluetooth module is mounted in the cabin behind the center console. Microphone routes to BTA 1500, and the cable from the BTA 1500 routes through to the Dension in the trunk.
How do you find out who installs these things? Doesnt seem like DIY. Eric recommends "Professional Installation"
I wouldnt want someone clowning around...i could that without paying for it.
The BT unit installs on your own. The Dension main GW500 unit can be done by you, or by others.
Email me anytime - we have a number of installers in various locations in the US. When you buy from us, we support you, and direct you to those we know who can do the job in your area where possible.
TD in DC - would you mind posting up your procedure for mounting the mic in the steering column? The mic is the very last thing I need to do to finish this install!
