Default Problems with Tooki

i installed a tooki, or i should say that i had my installer put the tooki in. let me first say that my installer has worked on thousands of porsches and does all of the electronics for 2 large north jersey porsche dealers. ever since we installed the tooki, the person who i am talking to experiences a loud and persistent echo, which repeats what they said to me in their ear a moment after they speak to me. we tried to trouble shoot it by changing microphones and even by removing the microphone completely, but even with the microphone removed, the person that i was speaking to had the same echo. the people from the manufacturer feel there is something wrong with the tooki-they will exchange it in a week or two-my phone is a blackberry 8830-anyone have this problem also?

I have been troubleshooting my unit with Tony of NAV-TV routinely. The software is still somewhat immature, but it's certainly better than anything from the OEM for now. Tony@nav-tv.com

Occasionally I would get an echo. (I use it with an older Razr and AT&T).

Contact Tony (why I gave you his email address). The echo that I got was very brief, and one time.

My mic is right by my rear view mirror and there is no problems with noise feedback. I would bet that you have a bad unit.

my mike is also by my rear view mirror-we trouble shot it by replacing the mic and even removing the mic, and even when we removed the mic, there was big time feedback-i agree, it probably is a bad unit. they apparently are going to send a replacement. let me ask, as i was thinking this-when the other party talks, and the sound comes out of the speakers, what is to stop that sound from going into the mic and causing feedback-is there an auto squelch which shuts the mic off for a bit after the sound comes out of the speakers?
