Default Missing Rubber Spoiler---Fell Off

The rubber spoiler on the bottom front end of my 06 S fell off somewhere between NV and Calif on my last trip. The tabs kept popping out and I kept pushing them back in.

I ordered the part from Suncoast and put the new one back on.

Any tips for getting this relatively inexpensive part ($33.00) to stay put. I know not parking so close to curbs is a good starting place.

I suspect once they start popping out their days are numbered. Perhaps some black GE silicon strategically placed on it will lengthen its service life. I use a ABS black skid plate to eliminate that part from being the lowest part of that area of the car. (Do a search on that). Mine has never been at risk of loss as a result.

This business takes a lot of self-discipline when it comes to negotiating steep drive ways and such. Only over time will you truly know where you can get into trouble with these things.

what is it with the titles today?!!1

Yes, if it fell off, it would certainly be a spoiler.

On a more serious note, I am always very careful about attaching bits too well to the lower part of the car. I mean, better to lose a $33 part than damage something more expensive because the disposable part would not release properly.

Good advice. Thank you both.

I'll try and be more careful with the scraping and count on losing a few more disposable spoilers while doing so.

Guess if you haven't had it come loose, or (as in your case) fall off, you're only driving on flat roads

The "nibs" do seem to be directional and I find that pushing and pulling it toward you as you do so, seems to "seat" the thing better. As Dan noted though, I suspect that once it loosens itself a few times, the tabs are probably shot and you need to get the whole new thing like you did.

Surprised to learn it's only $33!
