Default Targa sun shade question

I understand the 2008 Targa has a denser/darker sun shade under the glass sunroof. Does anyone know if the sun shade on a 2007 Targa can be replaced with the 2008 version? I plan to check with a dealer, although I suspect they won't have the answer. Any help appreciated.

I read somewhere that they made it more dense for the MY 08 cars to filter out more light, as some people found the 07 shades let in too much sunlight.

The shade in pic is from a 2009 T4S, it's dark and no light comes in. Is there multiple versions of shades? Please post pics of different targa shades.

The one in the above pic on the 2009 is way different that the one on my 2007. My 2007 material looks just like all the sunshades on rear windows and rear doors of Mercedes and BMW vehicles that I have owned. For lack of a better description, its perforated fabric, and definitely lets sunlight in.....however, I never have it closed.

The shade on my T4 2009 does let some light in- its not completely opaque; if the picture were from under the shade looking straight up you would see through the fabric a small amount. They are all black however.

If by opaque you mean it lets zero light through, I don't think so. That would require an incredibly tight weave or a synthetic coating to black all light - which would make the ability of the shade to roll up as its retracted, difficult as the resulting shade would be very stiff. Think similar to 'room darkening curtains'.

The shades are enough to block out any irritating sunlight that would otherwise blind, but you'll still be able to see the sun is up there.
