Fuel economy on a 997 C2S?

At nearly 3 week old and only 1500 miles, I average 20.7 around town.
I would say 1200 of these miles are backroads testing out the "grip" of rear tires and suspension................and I am driving aggressively. When I do, I am getting somewhere around 16.7 mpg.
My average speed through 1500 miles is a whopping 39 mph. I try to stay off the big straight roads!!!!!

I have reason to believe that in a '05 C2S cab with the top down driving at a consistant 85-90 on a highway - note: I'm not admitting to driving a consistant 85-90 - will have an average of 24.8.

Interesting that the PCM Trip module allows for separate readings/settings of “continuous” and “on board computer” for the 997, but not on the Cayenne.
When I saw the Cayenne PCM screen posting, I checked ours. I can set two independently on the Carrera, but not on the Pepper.
Wonder why? Or, am I missing something obvious?

1500 total miles, about 50% highway. The last 600 miles - only 15.6 mpg. How are you guys getting anywhere near 20mpg? I do drive a little "aggressively" but have stayed under 4200 rpm which more clearly defines the relative level of aggressiveness.

MPG varies widely depending on how the car is driven. Lately, I'm stuck doing almost entirely stop-and-go trips on surface roads and get about 14mpg or slightly less. My last road trip to Atlanta I was getting a little over 25mpg while doing politically incorrect speeds.

I have 3k on her, and the tripmeter says 14,5mpg. Have to check "continous" mode but do not think it will be much better.. 50:50 open road and in town. I do have a heavier than usual right foot possibly. Then again, looking at the responses, possibly not

I have a base C2, not a C2S...so I didn't vote. But, for reference:
15.9MPG over 5100 miles (I never reset continuous since buying the car new a year ago). Average speed for the 5100 miles is 34mph.
I have no idea how some people get 20mph...let alone higher than that. I guess I'm having too much fun (but my wallet hates it).

I have a 05 C2 as well. On cruise control, for 50 miles or so, I can get up to 28-29 MPG, Boston to Hartford. Around town, 19.5 to 21.0. During Auto Cross, 16-19. By the time I get home from Auto Cross, it usually averages out 19-21. I actually got a bit better before the ECU upgrade, the headers, and the Evo airfilter.
The winter tires seem to lose about 1-2 MPG, but it may just be the cold starts.

Do you believe in miracles ?
If I cruise at 50 to 70 from Santa Cruz over 17 to Menlo Park, I can get as high as 25.5.
At a track day I got 12 mpg !
