Default Check out my new Sled!

It all started 30 years ago when my friend Sam got a blue 1965 911 for his 16th birthday! I remember that car fondly. The way the wood steering wheel communicated with the road, the pedals that levered to the floor, first gear down and to the left and that sweet motor!. The car was a joy and I must have spent half my high school years in that car including a trip from Santa Monica to Jackson Hole to go skiing. He was the rich kid and I was along for the ride. Well I have my own one now and I almost cant believe it! What a sweet ride. It still has some of the same qualities I remember from back in the day except on steroids and growth hormones!
First off, I want to thank all Rennlist contributors for invaluable info during my search. From option lists, to DME scans, to prices, to Zaino and Sonus, to hooking up my Valentine (need this!). My car is a 2006 Atlas Grey/ Standard Black Carrera S Coupe CPO'ed til 8/12, 8500k with the following options

XLF Sport Exhaust (I love this!)
DAD Gear Lever Handbrake Alu/Leather (See Attached photo, nice touch)
XRR Carrera Sport Wheel
X70 Metal Door Model Insignia
XCL Instrument Surround Alum Look (This does not seem to add much, hard to see)
P15 Power Seats (I find these really comfortable, I like the lumbar adjustment)
680 BOSE (Not great but I think it sounds much better at higher volumes, I feel like it needs a Loudness button for low volumes)
342 Heated front seats
692 Remote CD changer

I paid low/mid 70's for the car. I feel good about the deal, especially since its almost the way I would have ordered a new one. Sorry for the long post but one final thing. I cant believe how well this car drives! I can just carve through traffic in 3rd or 4th at 4500 and the power is right there. The handling is fantastic, it seems to really like to be on power through the corners. I feel a DE event coming on! Maybe at Road Atlanta.

Thanks again

She is sweet...................I, also had to wait over 30 years for mine.

Agree with your comments on the Bose............I did play around with folding down the rear seat backs. Bose is a pretty good system, but not great.

How lucky you are to be able to open it up over 4K rpm.........I need to wait another week or so.

Great story. Confirms the old adage: "The good things in life are worth waiting for."

Congrats!!! Welcome to the club. I'm also in Nashville... and there doesn't seem to be many 997's around here right now. There is maybe one other Black 997 S that I see around town and that is about it, the rest are 996's. Makes it that more special. I'll wave if I see you. Enjoy your new 'driving instrument'.

I still have that same feeling everytime I get into my baby. I can distinctly remember sitting in my car reading the manual sipping on a Merlot. Cherish and keep those thoughts. Enjoy.
