Can a dealer refuse to show their list of lenders? Mine did.

They get a cut of the interest income on the loans they originate. You could go direct and leave them out. Why encourage that kind of behavior? Business is business.

Of course, I wanted to leave the middle man out. One lender I called after people recommended from here, they said they would not directly deal with consumers. It's US Bank.

Unfortunately, I am not associated with the military, although I have a sibling who was a colonel in the Navy. I think only the children qualify, no?

I believe you can donate $20 to become a member of some affiliated organization. That qualifies you.

Bitterazn is correct in above post. We did have to pay a one-time $20 fee to National Military Family Association to join Pentagon fed, this being the only requirement if borrower is not military or federal employee.

Pentagon Federal is the best out there. I have an SUV with Pentagon at less than 5%. Totally painless process....took 10 minutes online for full application; the check arrived at my door 2 or 3 days later.

Dealers get squirrely about volunteering info about their affiliated leasing banks. When I leased an M3 a while back, I was lucky in that my BMW dealer was forthcoming about their partner leasing banks.......... they ended up finding a 36 mo. lease special through Chase Bank for ~$150 LESS per month than BMW Financial would have been, also less lease inception fees than BMWFS! The sales person has to be your advocate, at least to some extent.

Better yet, DITCH that dealer & call Chris @ North Olmsted Porsche, see if they'll work with you on custom ordering a facelift '09?... let your harem chauffeur you around in the 996 in the meantime

that will get you into the Pentagon Fed Credit Union but I don't think will get you into USAA.

Sometimes you can use their commission as a bargaining tool.

it appears there's been so much adversarial negotiating built up here (very unusual, btw) that perhaps you should look for another dealer. imho, dealer goodwill is very important to have especially when it comes to expensive sports cars. whether it's you or them, or both, just doesn't soundl like it's working.
