Our first Porsche!
Last weekend my wife and I had the great pleasure to take delivery of our first P- car, a 2008 997 Carerra S. We bought her at Hoehn Motors in Carlsbad, CA and had an awesome buying experience from front to back. We took the train down and our salesman was waiting for us at the train station in a new Cayenne S to wisk us back to the dealership to go through the whole delivery process. What an awesome experience!
Per my request, the car was delivered without being detailed and since we got home last last Sunday I didn't really get a chance to snap any photo's until today.
Our newest joy was spec'd out as follows:
Here are a few photo's. Unfortunately, the beauty of the red interior doesn't translate too well in photo's. The color is off. I've noticed the same problem when trying to photograph the terracotta interior.

I don't have the order code off the top of my head. But it's about $450 if memory serves me correct. You can easily install after taking delivery. Suncoast Porsche sells the parts for about the same price and most dealers charge about an hour and a half for installation.
The shifting is a little notchy when the gearbox is stone cold but it's absolutely wonderful thereafter.
Believe it or not, I had actually spec'd out a new 997S in with Arctic Silver and the full red interior before Porsche announced the RS60. To me, the silver over red is a classic Porsche combo.
I'm a car nut first and foremost. My dealer was brutally honest with me and there were a lot of nice people here and on the "other" forum that were willing to share their input.
To be honest, I was all set to order a car and get exactly what I wanted. I didn't actually want the nav system or the self dimming mirrors and if I had ordered the car, I probably wouldn't have bitten off the extra cost of the GT Silver paint vs. Arctic silver but with the 2009's coming out and the fact that this car does not have the power sports seats (something I didn't want since my wife can't drive stick and I prefer the simplicity of a good non-powered seat), I was able to get a very, very good deal on this car.
So far, other than the painful break-in period, we couldn't be happier.
