CT Drivers Beware: Sneaky Cops
Rt 84 eastbound, Exits 16 and 17.
Unmarked state police cars pulling people over:
1. late-model burgundy Camaro (do they still make these?);
2. dark gray Dodge Charger with a cheesy faux-chain license plate bracket.
the license plate thing is what most surprised me. never saw that. and for me, the telltale sign the car's not a cop when coming up on it. just a heads up to my fellow connecticutians.

Between 84 and Route 8 these cars are being seen more often.
More sneeky is the trooper in a highway maintenance vehicle (orange P/U truck) with laser gun. Down further are all the chase cars and foot troopers directing you to pull over and if you don't, a few high speed chase cars at the ready.
Thanks for the heads up. Glad I use the K-40 when I drive the Porsche, but company car has nothing.

Some of my least fond police memories are from Rte 84 during the 80s when I was in college in CT.
Wasn't there a line from Cannonball Run saying something like, "at least noone has the death penalty for speeding,....maybe except for CT."

CT has never been bashful about their true intentions regarding speed enforcement. It's not deterrence; it's revenue generation. If they really cared about slowing down traffic, they would make their presence conspicuous rather than lurking in the shadows.
