Is Porsche AWD worth the money?

Ok a reply with some humility from me. I always considered myself a good driver. I did some racing about 10 years ago and had reasonably success for a weekender. The new 997 is just plain better than I am. I had no choice to go with AWD as I really wanted a Targa.
In hindsight, I'd still take the 4. My God this car outhandles anything I have driven and the steering is perfectly balanced. No understeer / oversteer problems and the power is put down smoothly on the worst of roads. Good luck. I really think you can't go wrong with either.

I've got one of each, and my sedan is AWD.
for track oriented cars, RWD is much much better.
for twisty roads, either
for inclement weather- it feels really good knowing you've got 4 wheels pulling.
