Default My first flat tire....

These Porsches with no spare love flat tires...It happened while staying in
Big Sur. Luckily I was able to take the rear tire off ( I had bought a small jack/and professional tire repair kit) and after one hour the tire was fixed. I avoided putting the goopy stuff.

Nice save. What kind of repair kit do you have?

Hopefully everyone is now carrying a radial tire repair kit in their trunk. That's standard equipment for me. (Do a search for that kit composition).

+10; We go (cycle thru? ) there every few years. If you ever go back I can direct you to a really good winery in Carmel Valley - definitely worth the stop!

Abe - good you had the kit. Did you make it from the recs by a Member here (cannot recall the Member or post but it was a nice write up/pics on creating a tire repair kit)?

No biking on our honeymoon,...we saved the workouts for indoor activities. We 'got around' in a rented Z4.
I did once bike along Rte 1 around Bodega Bay on a Backroads trip many moons ago.

Uhhh, could it be the member whose post right above is referring to it?

We stayed at Post Ranch Inn at Big Sur last year. A few pictures I took while there:

They offer two complimentary Lexus roadsters, 1st come first served, which given they only have about 25 rooms, are relatively easy to reserve. Not a 911, but beats the Ford rental I had!

Ben - I thought it was Edgy but thought that someone with better search functioning skills would chime in/prove it up Nice to have you back (from a newbie)!

Coochas - Did you know that the PRI has 2 Lexus SC430s available for the guests free of charge (I know, the Z4 is the better car, but for future knowledge). We always rent an S4 drop top when we go

Edit: John - just beat me to it! Nice pics!

I did NOT realize they had those cars available. Hmmm, an S4 convertible... maybe when we go back for our 5 year anniversary!
BTW, we stayed in the Grimes Treehouse and loved it...here are some of my pics of Post Ranch:

And me in the rental Z4:

My wife's 45th bd and 29years of togetherness. The kit I used is Patchboy..professional with mushroom plugs. In addition I bought a small scissors jack, bottle nose pliers/screw driver/pliers, towels, pressure gage and few misc. Took me one hour while my wife got a message.
Took the car out for a drive to 125mph between the lighthouse and Post Ranch Inn....no problem. I am not going to spend $800+ of two tires with 7k miles on it. Am I am not going to be driving 175mph....so I will take my chances....the worst that can happen...plugg fails and I get another flat. BTW,
the professional kit actually goes through a heating and chemical process the plugg becomes part of the tire.

You've mellowed.
The old Ben would have told the poor fellow to search
Good for you
