Yes. 10 qts plus overfill is par for my dealer. I think the oil is in bulk, premeasured. Find a good indie shop. I was quoted 860$ for 2 year (20k mi)service. Right. They look at a lengthy check list and do cabin filter and whatever fluids are due. Shame because I would prefer to have them do at least some of it but I can't tolerate (nor afford) being ripped off.

i am all thumbs but can manage an oil change...can any of you guys suggest a site and parts to buy to do the oil change (wrench, filter etc. for 997S)

Most dealers who change your oil with Mobil 0W40 overfill it, knowing that you'll burn and leak a quart by the time you get home anyway.
