If someone ever did that to my car, all I ask is to catch them in the act.

Leave it as it is and sell it as a one-of-a-kind art car. Just have to come up with a catchy title...

Man, that will require repainting the entire car which will be at least $10K and probably higher.

What senseless $hit! Sorry that happened. Make it right so you can enjoy your car again.

Repainting is not a solution. This oxide goes through paint and damages metal.... All affected panels should be changed.
I guess someone buys this car, repaints it and sells it cheaper than market value. Then the new owner starts wondering about the Porsche metal quality...

IMO, some type of acid. In Asia, it's common to poor acid on cars to spite the owner due to finance, love triangle etc...

Yip, the car paint have to be strip and repaint.. maybe an artist could pick it up and do some wild painting scheme to compliment the damage..

There are some sick A-Holes out in this world. Instead of admiring a car, and one day hoping for that time when they too can own one. But instead, they rush out to damage a car being it key job, paint spray, or in this case acid or paint remover.

One of my neighbors had the acid thrown onto his Prius for some unknow reason.

People like that should be put to hard labor seeing they have too much time on their hand and cannot view other peoples rewards in a positive way. There's quite a bit of work that needs to be done, so this A-hole will be removed from the streets.

For the car in the pics, depending on what was used, reshoot the panels may be all it needs. However, if acid based, you're looking at a full strip and evaluation of the panels if they have been damaged enough not to support refinishing. If panels are not paintable, new panels must be used. And seeing those pics, that's the whole car for the most part.

Regards,
Deanski
