Default GT3/Aero front lower lip

How much should I pay for a GT3 front chin spoiler? Dealer quoted me $251.02 for the black GT3 lip and $267.45 for the aerokit primed version. Where do you guys get yours and how much do you pay?

Paid about $120 approximately a year ago for the GT3 lip...price has gone up since then. Suncoast typically has wholesale plus 15% pricing.

I paid $114.55 + 22.93 shipping (it's a big box) at Sunset (not to confused with Suncoast) in Oct07. They're an authorized Porsche/Audi delear in Oregon.

www.sunsetimports.com part no #997-505-983-92.

You may want to order a set of (two) screws at the same time. Sometimes they strip when being removed (#999-507-616-40)

Scott-

That lip is a part of the Aerokit or GT3 front bumper and doesn't have anything to do with our cars.

ibmiked was right on. It's a "disposable" lip (low hanging piece) that tends to get trashed in order to save the more valuable front GT3/aerokit spoiler. Most people either ignore the scraping or replace it semi-regularly – that’s why we compare prices. They used to be $85 a year ago and have gone up considerably.

See item #8 in the picture.

My guess is that 20 years from now we'll be fighting over these at Porsche swap meets and restoration events. Probably paying far too much for them also...

Performance Products has plastic or metal skid plates for non-aero cars.

Question flexible version?

Does anyone know of a flexible version of the lip/lower spoiler for aerokit?

The stock GT3 (and I assume aerokit) lip is flexible. Or are you looking for something in the flimsy range of flexible...

Too flexible and it'll bend under air pressure at high speeds - over 180 mph it tends to do this to the normal version and can detach. You need to make sure it has double sided sticky tape all the way round and to use duck tape to stop the air coming between the lip and main spoiler.

Some of the guys on the 997 GT3 Forum have found that the GT Cup lip is cheaper thatn the GT3 lip. Here is a link.
