Through the manufacturer, I found an installer in Leesburg. Extreme something. Spoke with the owner, Sergio, today and liked what I heard: lifetime warranty on film and labor; does work for dealerships primarily. Will check references, etc. and post feedback if/when I have it installed.
In the mean time, if anyone knows the place I am talking about, please let me know your experience.

The verdict is in:
After several months with the Ventureshield in place, this was money well spent. The Ventureshield is hard to see until you're close to the car. It has already saved my paint from some stones on the Beltway, especially with this summer's construction. Not cheap, but if you care about the front end, mirrors, etc. of your car, I would recommend this product.
(As for the installer in No. VA, he works from a residential garage, but did a decent job with prepping and installation.)

I have been trying to decide between 3M and Venture......I know that V is clearer and has no orange peel and am told scratches easier. Also that it's very difficult to get bug, bird droppings off the V shield, that it stains. I live in Phoenix and am told that the intense sun takes a toll as well........Any thoughts suggestions?
Another issue is 3M doesn't make the product wide enough to cover the entire hood. Some installers state they can stretch 3M to cover in one piece but called 3M and they said there is no way!!! They must be using Venture shield.
This gets very confusing when you start looking into it!
Thanks for any help!

Could be wrong, but I believe 3M recently acquired V-shield b/c is a superior product.
I searched a lot of posts here and elsewhere, took into account the advice of a Lotus dealer, and looked at it in person. V-shield is clearer, no orange peel and I've had no problem keeping it clean with normal washing. Mine came with a great warranty on the shield and installation.
I don't let my car bake in the sun, so I cannot help you at all from that perspective. Best suggestion -- find a V-shield installer in Phoenix, ask for references and find out what drivers that did an install a year ago or more say about it.
Good luck.
