Default CD Changer keep or sell

My 997S came with the CD changer, but it is of no use to me. I'm thinking of removing it and replacing it with the NavTV iPod setup. But I have some questions. FWIW, the car is a daily driver and although newish now, it will get around 18-20k miles per year. I keep my cars very well, but there is no avoiding some chips, scratches and even dents with that mileage, so it won't be winning any concours.

1. If I sell the CD changer, so its not available to a future buyer, will that hurt the value of the car (if so, any idea how much)? I could just put it in a bag and store it for several years, but I'd like to turn it into some cash to buy the NavTV iPod unit.

2. Does the car have to be re-coded just because the CD changer is removed (there could be several months between removal and replacement, which does require a recode IIRC)?

3. I assume removing the CD changer is an easy DIY (and I think I'm up to putting the NavTV unit in myself too) - true?

Any other input/thoughts appreciated.

TIA,
