Rock chips?
There's a guy who posts here - I don't recall his name - who is a Porsche mechanic at Collection; he may be able to help you out.
Paint protection film is a great solution to road pitting / scars. Just be sure to find a good installer, there are too many new installers on the market currently.

Don't worry.
First call the nearest Porsche Dealer and ask for the best body and paint specialist in the area who restores Porsches. If you do a search you'll see the before and after pics I had when a sensless lady hit me in the rear. I too was devasted. No engine damage but it took the best restoration place to put my baby back together again. And even my dealership said that the job was so flawless that they would still give me a trade in of good value if I wanted. I never looked back, kept my car, did a few modifications, and have loved my car as much as I did the first day. Hang in there and watch out for those book bags.

Vizman:
I agree, ask around, look at some of the work of installers before having it done. It all depends on the film now. Todays films are very clear! No more orange peel look to them.
I had my film installed while at the dealer. The film company came to the dealership to do the install. Yes, some Porsche dealers will let them do this while onsite, some forbid it.
Once painted, it's pretty much cured since all paints now are waterborne and heat cured. However, ALWAYS speak to the person who did the paint work as to how long before it can be covered. It all depends on the paint mfg and which products were used.
Gladly, I have my film on when a mudflap hit the hood, but no damage to the hood, just the film.
Get it done!

Deanski
No better Porsche body/restoration shop in CT than Automobile Associates of Canton on Albany Turnpike, which is Jim Newton's shop. He's done a number of Manhattan Trophy winners. He does paint work on any car, but his Posrsche work is simply the best!
[QUOTE=Deanski;4962081]You guys REALLY need to get a shop here in the east... like CT? Come on, lots of money to be made.....
Would love to, but we're busy enough just trying to take care of our California customers.

Damn, we sure could use a firm such as yours in the area!
Not too many can do custom work, or do even CAD cut-outs all that well. Along with type of film.
Well, at least California is "covered".
