Got to check out this R8 up close at Infineon Raceway this weekend. I happen to like it. I think that it looks better in person than some of the photo I have seen.
Took some pictures next to mine. What do you think?

Unique car, but at the end of your post I couldn't help but think
"Now how about some pictures of that 997?"

 

I agree with kw_1055...the R8 is better looking in person than it is in photos.
Side-by-side with the 997, I prefer the more classic lines of the Porsche, but I wouldn't kick an R8 outta my garage.

 

Porsches have a "timeless" design, which will look good for years to come. (OK, with the possible exception of the 996 )

The R8 will look goofy in a week or two.

 

I think that the week or two went by a few weeks ago. R8 is an ugly looking car, great performance, but ugly. BTW I love Audi's I have an Allroad for the day's when the 997 should stay in the Garage. Did I say that the R8 is ugly?

 

It looks nice from the front, but goofy from every other angle. And I just despise that stripe on its side...

 

I saw a black R8 with a carbon fiber "stripe". That looks nice. Too bad I don't have a picture.

 

No competition if you are a Cab owner. It's a bit tricky to take the roof down on an R8 without a saw !!

 

I like it. Have not seen one in person, but these are some good pics.

I'm an Audi fan and would love to drive an R8. Good for the industry too. Will help keep Porsche on its toes.

It's that Accent stripe.. It's ugly!!!!!!!! And the front led light, yuk!!! I don't complain much. But this R8 give me one bad impression of something is wrong. Is it because the 997 is a classic. And comparing them is like comparing Orange and Tangelo???

BTW, the White AUDI in iRobot, now that's a sweet car. The R8 have some similarities, but not enough curves.
