Default Recommended Oil

What kind of oil is recommended to keep in the garage in case the need arises to top her off? I live in Florida, so never really gets cold here Also, can I avoid going to Porsche dealer to get the oil? its quite far from my home, and I hoping I can get a high quality synthetic that is recommended from local auto parts store

You really need to run the search first.

Open the rear engine cover. View Mobil 1 sticker, purchase oil.

Come on, doesn't anyone read the manual or speak to the service department?

You purchased a high-end sport car, your salesman/dealership should have answered your questions.

Just go to any Wal-Mart or whatever and pick-up Mobil-1 oil, that's all.

Deanski.

Mobil 1, 0W-40 is Porsche approved and is suitable for ALL locations.

If you live in a warmer climate , you can use other formulations .

My local Wal*Mart, at least, does not carry 0W40. I ended up buying a case from my local dealer just so I'd have some oil on hand for those times when the car gets thirsty. I think they charged me $50 for six quarts, so in the grand scheme of things it's not worth sweating over. I had to use a quart during my break-in and then another after my last track weekend.

If you are not changing your own oil, you should top off with whatever oil it was filled with. If you do the work at the dealer, most likely its moibil 1 0-40.

Try Autozone - I've found individual quart bottles of the Mobil 1 0W-40 there.

Autozone for 0W40 Mobile 1 - I think it was $4 a liter (so $24 for 6).

Mods should sticky that animation with a big bold title "BEFORE YOU POST ANYTHING, READ THIS". That would probably reduce traffic and storage here by about 50%...

Nugget you must have lots of gold nuggets if you are willing to give your money away that quickly. I have money...but the reason I have money is because I will go to PepBoys or Wallmarts to buy Mobil 1 and not pay $8/quart. Then I again if I had lots of gold nuggets...it doesn't really matter if you pay
$4 or 8 or 12 does it?

I checked two places and came up empty (walmart and my local autozone). I found plenty of "Mobil 1" but none that was the proper weight.
The dealer had 0W40 in stock.

What's the price of an engine damaged by the wrong grade of oil?
