Default Optimum Street Driving Tire Pressure

Okay guys since you all have all of the knowledge, lay some more on me. I am "this close" to pulling the trigger on a the "S", and when test driving at the dealer today, I noticed that two S cars drove somewhat differently, and then realized their tire pressures were different.

So, for aggressive street driving on 19", with best handling (recognizing that I may be sacrificing tire wear...oh well), what have you guys found to be the best tire pressure combination? I believe the door jamb says 44R / 37F, but I am not sure that I liked that set up. As always, thanks in advance for the advice.

Cole,
The manual says 33/39 for 19" rims 'unloaded' and 36/44 'loaded.'
That being said, I think I usually run around 34 front and 38 rear. I have found that higher pressures just make the ride too harsh for driving around the city (which is unfortunately the bulk of my driving). These are of course cold tire pressures.

I have 18' conti's and found too much wear at 44 lbs. in the rears on the first set. Only got 14,000 km ( 8,750 miles ).
What pressure have others found optimum on the 18'.

I'm a higher pressure guy; I find the more immediate response on the street outweighs the additional harshness. It also seems to depend on the tire choice and, obviously, your own preference.

Track performance is easier to quantify but I think this thread is street oriented.

The good news is that it'll cost you $0.50 at most to experiment.......

I have 18" wheels with PS2's on my 996. I run 33 front and 39 rear. The manaul says 36/44, but 44 is too high. IMO, it decreases rear tire wear.
