997 esq, thanks for the info! yeah if i'm gonna get slammed on the interest it's not really worth it for me. leasing works best for me because i like changing cars. but unfortunately porshe at least here in my town doesn't lease out as well as bmw. i have the cash to purchase outright so am leaning towards that option with the hopes of putting on 8 to 10 K miles over 2 to 3 years and trading in/selling at relatively mildly depreciated cost from the initial price point. i was surprised at the relatively good interest rate i was able to get on a used car loan however, i think 5.49% fixed rate over 60 months isn't too shabby.

Just buy mine. 2005 19980 miles. No brainer. I took care of the depreciation for you and the car has very low mileage.

Pretty much right. Basically the Balloon contract is like a Lease, but is a Retail contract (you have the title). If you decide that you don't want the car at the end of the term, you can turn it in and walk away, just like a normal Lease. Reason for the balloon notes is primarily for states with vicarious liability (which is mostly gone now) and places like Texas where there is the sales tax AND a lease use tax (so you can pay twice the taxes when leasing!).
