Hi,
I have 49,000 miles on a 2006 997 S. I just
ordered a new oil
filter for the 50,000. I change the oil every 10,000.
I buy new tires every 10,000. I go thru Pagid Blue brakes
like ther going out of sale. I have new rotors coming. The Porsche
service guys respect the way I run the maintence on my car. If you
are a do it yourselfer then do it. I feel that I am in touch more
with my car doing all the work. Yes I can aford to have others work
on my car but that is not the reason I work on my car. I just
bought spark plugs and will tackle this task. Nothing is better then knowing
all the amount of work you put into the car makes it also go so fast.

I'm looking into the possibility getting a 997 without pdk... I was wondering if anyone can share their thoughts on out-of-warranty maintenance with non-pdk cars [if after LN ims update].... it would be interesting to hear how your thoughts compare to what the owners were posting from a few years ago..... or if there are other threads that better cover this topic... most specifically, if there is any advantage to having other service done while the engine is out, and what might be needing done after, 40, 60, 80 k miles, etc [in the engine bay].... thanks.
