Default My "new" C4S!!

Hey everybody, I wanted to introduce myself to the 997 board because I just became the owner of a fantastic 2006 C4S. I had sort of been looking for a speed yellow GT3 or 997 with Aero kit when I found this car. The pics don't do it justice because it's beautiful and after seeing it and the equipment list at the price the dealer was asking I just had to buy it. It had 2900 miles on the odometer and still smells new!

Although the dealer didn't have the original sticker, I found many of the installed options throught the codes and order guide. Some I still haven't figured out. This is what I know it has on the car.

Speed Yellow
19 inch carrera sport wheel
colored crests
full leather
pccb brakes
parktronic
x51 power kit
yellow faces
yellow seat backs
yellow seat belts
yellow center consol
sports adaptive seats
thicker 3 spoke steering wheel leather
sport chrono plus
bose sound system
wheel spacers
Floor mats w/Porsche and leather trim
self dimming mirrors
door finishers leather
door entry guards stainless steel
sport shifter
porsche crest in headrest
metal door sill insignia
door handle stitching deviating
stitching console deviating
front/rear seats deviating stitching
rear side pane deviating stitching
dashboard stitching deviating
center console deviating stitching
spare tire with accessories

The dealer was a not a Porsche dealer so they didn't seem to know everything the car had on it but had talked to PCNA and been told (so they told me) that the car was a special order car by PCNA that was used in some car shows?? I know from one of the codes that it was a "special wishes" car and that may explain some of the options that are obviously on the car but don't have a corresponding code. So, after I bought the car I ordered the Certificate of Authenticity to determine the actual (rather than my estimate) original MSRP and equipment list. When I got that today there was "Information Not Available" for MSRP and the option list still doesn't include all the options that I know are on the car!

If anyone knows how I can find out more about the car's history (other than Carfax which I have) I would sure appreciate it!

The car is absolutely incredible to drive! Lots more power than my 996 and the handling is awesome! It does seem to have more torque and better acceleration than my friends 2006 997S which is probably due to the extra torque and horsepower with the X51 kit. The 4 wheel traction of the C4 is also really a step up from what I have been used to with my other cars. You can feel the car pulling very noticeably in tight turns. I can't wait to get it out on the autocross track next spring!

Anyway the pics aren't great but hopefully they give you an idea of how the car looks and is set up. If anyone can shed light on figuring out the history that would be great!

Tony

Excellent choice of hardware and color !
My car might well be the first SY 997C4S that came to the US almost two years ago now.
ENJOY.

Nice instument dials, and I have to say I am jealous of the ceramic brakes. Good luck and put her to good use.

He's also got the X51 as well! Very nice to have. Wish I did that, but $17K was a bit too much for an engine upgrade.

Damn, I missed on painted seatbacks and center console, painted wheels and a few other items. I wanted black dials with yellow pointers for my black C2S that also has the yellow seatbelts but was unable to do it. May do it aftermart.

That is one nicely equipt C4S my friend! Drive her in good health!!

Regards,
Deanski

Very nice indeed! The special order part might well be true as I have an '06 and I tried and tried and tried some more to order the car with deviating stitching, only to be told that it was not an option for '06 cars in the US.

Also, I can't say for sure, but I recall seeing a heavily optioned SY C4S coupe with X51 that was for sale at a Colorado dealership a few months ago. I can't remember any other options that the car had, but it was very loaded and that was reflected in the high asking price.

Nice car and options. Love the stitching. You'll enjoy the added HP with the X51. I sure do!

I love 'garage finds'. Often non-P dealers who buy at Manheim don't have a clue there's a trust fund of options on the car. Good for you.
