Default Wheel ID and Clear Bra

My 07 C2s slate/black leather came with these aftermarket wheels. Dealer could not help me with info. At first I thought they were a bit much bling. They are growing on me and I would like to know more about this model wheel. The spacers are about 18mm.

Also how do you guys like clear bra. What are the cost and longevity?

I've got a clear bra, & would not drive around without it. There's just too much crap that gets kicked up & will chip/ding your hood.

Default Love my bra

Specifically asked to have the dealer install the clear bra on my car - agree with mglobe, wouldn't drive without it. It has saved me from uncountable stone chips in a short 5,000 miles.

The 3M product is pretty good - hard to tell it's on unless you really look.

I almost got a clear bra but decided not to. I don't care for the look or the anticipated longevity. There was a guy on here who had a hell of a time trying to take one off his car.

If I get too many rock chips, I guess I'll consider repainting the front of the car. I don't need my cars to be perfect, though ...

I too have Armorglove on the car. I was on I-95 when a mudflap flew off a Subaru and skipped off the front hood. Thank God for the film or I'd be repainting the hood. It also protected the lower lip as well.

As for removing film, it's best done with a heat gun.

Always have a firm that installs film on a regular basis.

I never saw those - you're right, the center seems to come out more then the SSRs.

I had it on my 987s and tracked it 8 days last year without a chip or scratch and the only thing I covered with tape was the fog light lenses that were replaced under some factory campaign involving the grill and I didn't recover after. It had the whole front bumper covered, the fender lips and the rockers and halfway up the hood. I found that Meguires carnauba cleaner wax worked very well on it to clean and get a nice shine on it. I am having the same thing done to the 997 as soon as they can get it in as they use the spray booth to apply. It ain't cheap. about $900.00 but I think well worth it

I had the 3M product installed, and went for the full track kit ... my car wil see pretty serious track time and I don't want to be worrying about rock dings and tire chunking.

With the track kit, instead of coverage half way up the front hood the whole hood is covered. Only seam you get is on each side of the trailing edge, near the window. There is about a 6 inch piece that fills out either side. Much less noticeable than the half-way up look. The kit also covers the full left and right fenders, the A pillars, headlights, fog lights and mirrors. So basically it is as if they dipped the front 1/3 of the car into clear plastic.

I do not notice it on the car, at all. Maintain it like regular paint. A couple of people who have seen it went charging off to the place that did the install to have theirs done as well.

Warning ... this full kit is about double the price of the standard kit, and the installer is critical. Get someone who has done these before! The guy that did mine had a problem with one area and has just replaced it, at his expense, as it was not perfect.

1+

Cost is around $800-$950. GET RECOMMENDATIONS, THE INSTALLER IS 99.9% of the result.

The yellowing on the clear bra is more susceptible if daily driven in hot climate spots like (Texas, Arizona, etc.)

yeah those wheels are "3piece style" the only thing i hate more than a 3 piece wheel is one that looks like a 3piece that really isnt.
try to get some oem wheels. sport design, classic, turbo, whichever you like. they are pretty cheap on ebay.
