Tiptronic is not as bad as most of you guys think it is. No it is not perfect but I bet 99% of you would have faster lap times with a Tip than a 6speed.

What dealers are you guys getting loaners from? I service mine at the Auto Gallery in Woodland hills and all they have are POS rentals. This is my biggest complaint..take a $100K+ car in for service and get a beat up rental in return.

Well, I live in NYC/CT and my dealer Fairfield Porsche has always given me amazing service.

One time they gave me a Cayenne for 2 months while my GT3 car was being converted to an RS

But even more importantly, what weight of oil should I use?

Pacific Porsche in Torrance has a fleet of rather fresh Porsche loaners. I've had Boxsters and Cayennes, but they have Caymen as well. (All have been Tiptronics, and I don't like them any better than my own.)

Personally I don't care what I get as long as it's free, and I don't have to impose on other people for rides. Although I was a little irritated when the car was having a transmission replaced for 10 days in the first six months of ownership, and McKenna could do no better than an a Sebring from Enterprise with 58,000 hard miles on it...

I use Braman in WPB FL...love em' there

Now that I have my 6 speed back from service I must admit, I honestly still miss the tip when in traffic. I anxiously await the DSG box and after they get the initial software bugs straightened out , it might be my next 997S.
