Default Grand Prix and APR

I'm interested to hear first hand feedback on the quality of work and support provided by Grand Prix on Long Island in Wantaugh as I'm thinking of using them to do some work on my car.

If anyone has first hand experience with using the APR ECU software that would be appreciated too. Any comments on APR's support, software performance, adverse side effects, ease/difficulty of use when switching between modes, etc. would be helpful.

This is what I've been told about APRs software:

Programmable to change modes using the cruise control stalk.
4 modes possible
security feature - dealer unable to detect ECU flash was done
optimized throughout the range to improve performance, fuel economy, smooths out the curve
Installs in one hour (+/-) using OBD and laptop, no need to remove ECU

Thanks,
Ian

I had APR install software on my Audi TT. I am sure it is similar in style and function for the Porsche. Super ease of use and wonderful folks to deal with! Everyone there is cool and willing to help with anything you need. I only live about 30 minutes away from Auburn so it is cool to just pop over and hang out sometimes.

If I didn't already have Orton software on my 997 C2S, I would definitely go with APR!

Default I have had 3 APR chip's on my Audi's including my current

Allroad. I have a GIAC chip in my 997 (came with the care) and I have access to 94 octane gas at the pump, APR has a 93 Octane program and GIAC doesn't. If I was going to buy a flash today APR would be the way to go, very good people to deal with and there programing has been great.

Skittlz74 -
Why did you go with Orton? for your 997? I haven't heard of it.
Thanks,
Ian

Default APR

I had APR put their Software on my A3 at the last DE. Love it. Great people.Tried to get it for my C2s at that time but they couldn't do it at that time(about 6 months ago).

The will be at a Porsche event at the Dealer in Montgomery on the 17th.

I will try again and give feedback
