Default Newbie Pricing Help

Looking at an 05 Carrera, Arctic/Black, not too optioned out, but nice (htd seats, bose, wheels. Not sure about PSAM) 12K miles at local Porsche Dealer who is Currently asking $62500 without CPO.

I think this car should be about $60ish WITH CPO warranty, correct?

Can you get into a great condition C2S for $60ish? and if so, Assume this should be more like $57kish? I've searched the forum and it seems that this should be the case, but boy the asking prices are materially higher at dealers...

The other car that has my eye is a 996 C4S, loaded, with 22k miles but they are asking $68k which is above my limit...

Thanks in advance. This would be my first Porsche so I'm just trying to get a feel for pricing

Welcome!

I just bought a new 2007 Carrera for not even 10K more than your used 2005, so I definitely consider that price too high. Options are similar (heated & power seats, Bose, bi-xenon, etc.).

Don't know anything about 996 pricing, sorry.

Supply and demand and that fluctuates with your location... This all comes down to what you can negotiate. I'd have no interest in a 996 especially AWD. Look at Porsche's website and search all used cars in the nation. I think you'll see that asking is in the mid 60s to mid 70s for used C2S product, slightly less for C2. But, you don't want to spend the next several months searching and worrying if you're paying too much. If the car is mint, checks out, has CPO to boot, then buy it and enjoy it

Price is a bit high. Could spare knocking about $5k off that and go.
