Default What does 911CS mean....

I need to settle a bar dispute, and need your help!!! Please share your reaction when you see 911CS...

Does 911CS mean 911 Carrera S, or does it mean 911 Club Sport, both, or something else?

CS usually means clubsport.

In my experience most owners refer to their Carrera S's by C2S, or C4S depending on drivetrain.

Current 997 Carrera should just be '911 S'. Since there has been a 911 Club Sport (and it would be GREAT if there was another), '911 CS' should be reserved for it.

Hi,
You forgot to mention the 911RS.

911RS (911, 964, 993), 911SC RS, or 911GT3 RS (996, 997)?

Interesting point...the original 911S was never badged a Carrera...so would only ever have been called 911S. The 977 is technically the Porsche 911 Carrera S, hence the abbreviation to 911CS makes sense...doesn't it?

Not to me...

911C2, 911C2S, 911C4, 911C4S have been common terms for late model Carreras since the introduction of the 964. I've only heard of Club Sport models referred to as 911CS.

I think ClubSport, but Carrera S is possible, too.

Im going with Club Sport since Carrera is a given.

Does this poll help you win or lose your bar argument? Looks as if a majority of us are voting for Club Sport.

I was suggesting that both were appropriate. Club Sport is clearly the traditional 'CS', but I think/thought that 911 CS would be acceptable as a vanity plate alternative to 911 S. My pal said Club Sport only. So who won? The poll votes show Club Sport is top, but a decent amount said Carrera S. Interestingly a bigger majority of you that decided to write comments voted Club Sport.

So, is 911 CS an acceptable vanity plate idea for a Carrera S ??

No, definitely not. My initial thought was that you were talking about the confusion of CS vs SC.
The first 911 ClubSport was the 1988 Carrera CS - the first lightweight 911 since the Carrera RS (see picture). The last was the GT3 although in this case it's not a model but an option. So, regards your question CS could only mean ClubSport.
