Default R8 Christmas Lights

Hi,
I was driving on highway 280 when this black R8
comes into my rear view. The headlights
were on and it look like someone put Christmas
lights in each headlight. Has anyone else seen
this weird looking headlight.

Personally I love the lights.

Looking at their brightness and fast response time, it won't be long before they are standard on all cars.

Some of the other Audi's are using them for brake lights - S5/A5 and new S4/A4 will have them up front as well...

That R8 is really nice - but I would much rather have a 911...

Hi,
It just looked out of place on a high end sports car.

They supposedly were modeled on the lights at some famous opera house or something like that. Sorry I can't find the link atm.

I have driven the r8 and all I can say is it feels very underpowered. I was not impressed at all. I will take my 997 over the r8 every time. Just my opinion, by the way my friend who had the r8 quickly got rid of it for his 997 turbo cab.

Hi,
The guy I saw driving the R8 was not very happy. Maybe
he was having a bad day. The christmas lights looked
like they were tring to make a smiley face but they were not
doing a very good job of that. It looked like
two chamfered ellbows. I did not reconize any opera house
in my mirrors.

Personally, I don't like them - saw them on an S5 the other day. My '08 S4 will not have them - fine with me.
