Could be a demo car or something....sometimes those have to be crushed after a certain amount of time because they are not 100% supposed to be on the roads.

You mean a test mule. demonstrator cars are often sold to unsuspecting buyers who don't realize people abuse cars on test drives.

It would have been art if the artist had sacrficed himself and sat in the car while it was crushed.
