Default Homelink help

Hi Guys,

I am having problems setting up my homelink to my electric garage door. I follow the instructions and aim the door remote at the front of the car having already pressed the homelink buttons for the appropriate time. The car then flashes the fog lights to alert me that it has captured the remote frequency. HOWEVER then when I try to operate the door it does nothing!!!!

Am I missing something?

consider what you've done below as step 1. once you've done that you probably have to hit the "learn" button on your garage door opener and within about 20 to 30 seconds, you have ti hit the homelink key in the pcar twice, maybe three times to get ti tlock in...atleast thats the case with the most modern garage door openers that have "rolling" codes.

the car ignition must be ON for the homelink to work, does not work if the car is off

I had the same problem, till I read the door opener instructions and was pointed to the "learn" button on the opener itself. Using that, per spg993tt's advice did the trick

Try this - I've used their site with success in the past. Good luck.

Unless you have a very old garage door opener, it probably has a dynamic code. In such a case you need to use the learn button on your garage door motor unit. The process is detailed in the owner's manual (if I remember correctly, it is a page or two beyond the basic programming instructions). In my experience, it sometimes takes a couple tries to get it right.

I just got my homelink working after reading this thread and getting my wife to sit in my 2007 C2S, Slate, and press the homelink button while I on a ladder pushed the learn button on the opener motor. Thanks all. I want to post a pic of my wonderful new car as soon as the admin accepts my Paypal.
