Question Possible Purchase tomorrow - Price Check Please!

Hey guys, let me give you the details of a car i am interested in buying:

Black 2005 997 'S'
11,500 miles
Natural Brown Interior
Full Power Seats + memory
Heated Seats
Sports Chrono
Self Dimming Mirror
Nav
Bose sound system with 6 disc CD player.
Lobster Wheels

No Porsche logo in headcrests (though i think i can live with that)!
Ha 18 months warranty left, it isn't a CPO obviously.

He said he'll accept $61,500. I am in CA so the tax on that will be $5000 for a total of $66,5xx

Thoughts and opinions would be greatly appreciated!

Luxury Motors has a silver one with black interior, similar equipment, 38k miles with an ask just under $60k in Chicago (search for it on the luxurymotors.com site). Given the lower miles on the one you're looking at, the price seems attractive on yours - except that I assume LM will sell for less than their ask. You could use LM to help with your negotiations...

Nicely optioned car at a nice price. Assuming everything checks out mechanically, do it!

As long as it's not a "story" car at some obscure small car broker or dealer it's a great deal for Los Angeles.

Hey guys a dumb question. I have just moved ere from the UK, whenever I see a car for sale on say autotrader or ebay, do you also have to add tax? I know you do when buying new but not sure about second hand (any difference dealer vs private sale?)

Natural Leather (brown, gray or now Carrera Red) is ALWAYS full leather.

You will you have to pay tax over and above the price of the car. Tax rate (%) depends on the state. For example, in Arizona there is no tax if purchased from a private individual.

Let me add that you should always run the VIN number through some type of check system like Carfax. I also think an insurance company can run the same databases....

If you can't get a CPO on the car...pass (for all of the obvious reasons)!

There will be others around!
