Default Anyone going by their dealer this weekend?

I've been looking at used 997's (and even low mileage late model 996's) and the prices of really nice used ones aren't too far off from their new price. I might as well buy new!

I keep seeing the posts for the $10K discounts on new 2007 cars but haven't found any in NC. It looks like the supply of '07's are drying up around here. Maybe my luck will be better out of state?

I'm looking for a base C2 (or even C4), any color except black, 6 speed, and the only options I'm really keen on on sport chrono and Xenon's.

If you come across one of these deals let me know!

If I see any, I'll give you a shout. Are you selling that gorgeous car in your avatar, by chance?

I sold the Turquoise Blue C4S a couple of years ago. I have missed it ever since!

Well, best of luck in your hunt for a 997.

My dealer has two new 2007 base 911 left, but I'm pretty sure that neither has SC. One is basalt black and the other one is silver with turbo wheels. Sticker for each was around $82,000, and $10,000 discount is realistic (but probably not more than that). I'm about 900 miles from you.

Great dealer to work with. PM me if you need additional information or contact info. (I actually test-drove the basalt one yesterday as I'm thinking about moving my March turbo delivery to the summer in order to being able to do Tourist Delivery - thinking about getting a base 911 until then to fight my withdrawal symptoms).

http://brandywine.porschedealer.com/....php?model=997

Brandywine apparently has a Guards Red 997 in stock. It wouldn't hurt to give them a call.

Use google to search using the following string:
Code:
allinurl: "model 997" site:porschedealer.com
I created a bookmark file of dealers in the Northeast and Los Angeles area. Use your browser to "load in tabs" and speed up the process. Email me if you're interested in using it.

Cheers, Ron.

Ron,
I am interested in using your "bookmark". I have to confess I have absolutely no idea what you are talking about.

Are you saying to paste text you have highlighted into Google and I will find the link? Can it be modified for the SouthEast?

Thanks!

Not sure if this is exactly what zumaron means, but if you go here
http://www.porschedealer.com
Then enter your zip, you can specify how far away from you you want to search and it will return a list of dealers with their respective links

Thanks, uzj100. I've been using Porsche site dealer search. I think Ron has something more sophisticated that actually returns the dealer inventory in his search areas in one file.

I'm probably wrong, though.

It's too bad you let that one go. There aren't that many turquoise 993s out there.

Click on the link below and that will return a list containing links to porsche dealers inventory of 997's. That's a quick and dirty method and currently it's returning only 46 dealers.

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&c...om&btnG=Search

The other method is using the bookmark file I created, which is for Northeast and Los Angeles. I will email to you as an attachement. Save it to your desktop, double click and click through each dealer to view their inventory.

Optionally, import the bookmark file into your browser (FireFox) and then use the "Open All in Tabs" command (Faster in long run).

If you want to search for Southeast dealers, use the porsche dealer zip code radius search as suggested and navigate to the 997 inventory. Once you're at the inventory page, I suggest you create a new bookmark folder within your browser and save bookmarks for each dealers inventory page. This will help speed up the browsing process in future searches.

PM me with your email address and you'll see what I mean after looking at the file I send you.

Edgy...you're right. They are rare. In fact, I think you emailed me when you were placing the order for your car.

Here's a picture of the car in Phoenix on it's way to Los Angeles.

The original owner I bought the car from had a hard time finding a buyer. Everyone wanted silver or black and were scared of the unique color. I loved it immediately!
