Default Ceramic coated Tips?

I saw a 997S somewhere with Matt Black looking exhaust tips.
Is this a ceramic coating ?
Anyone know where this can be done (esp. in SF bay area ?)
The SST ones always look kind of dull, and Chrome is too bling.
I just want OEM really.
Thx

Mostly powder coated. I know of one 997S in the area that also has them.

Any good powder coating shops can do it for you, just provide the tips.

Powder coating is basically just paint, right ?
This will probably get pretty ugly with the heat cycles wont it ?... but im not sure hot hot an exhaust tip really gets ??

I know you only want OEM tips, but have you considered FabSpeed powder coated tips?

I actually just saw a thread on 6speed where FabSpeed now say they will powder coat your OEM ones.
I think its $100 for the satin black hi temp finish
May go this route.

Powder coating is different than ceramic coating - depends on how much heat protection you want. Jet Hot is one company that does ceramic coating. I had a set of AWE headers ceramic coated and they did a great job.

Friend of mine used the stock tips and painted them flat black with hi temp spray paint. Used them like this for a while then he decided he wanted them shiny so he roughed them up and sprayed them with glossy hi temp engine paint. They look powder coated and look very nice.

Mdrums,
Perhaps i'll try this. Sounds good enough for me.
Now ive just gotta get in and do the Exhaust Tip Recall and get them replaced at the dealer first.
Any idea what was supposed to be wrong with the original tips anyway ?
Thx

OEM tips issues: welding tips flying off when welded seam fatigues.
