Very nice, targas look good in white. My only suggestion is clear side markers, the cheapest Porsche upgrade you'll ever get at around $45.

Below is a photo of a set in a 996 Targa, taken by 1 PGH 1. I hope he doesn't mind me reposting his pic:

I've always liked white cars because they are sharp looking without being flashy. But with the black roof the contrast is stunning. Every time I go into the garage and look at the car my jaw drops.

No worries with the repost Geof. Here it is again.
Discovered one problem though ... once the "better half" realized the Targa held two sets of clubs, she also realized it had other uses ... 170+mph grocery hauler Eggs are scrambled taking corners on the way home and ready for the stove
Also good to take my boys to their ball games, just throw the baseball bags in the hatch, which don't fit in the front trunk, and away you go

I've never been a fan of the Targa's chrome strip, especially on darker cars. It works on white. Congrats.

Agreed- one reason I got white. When it is cloudy the chrome strip visually disappears wrt the nearby white paint.

Great news on fitting golf clubs in the Targa. I'm shopping around now for my first "911" and am a golf fanatic. I would like a car that would take two sets for weekend trips with my wife. Does anyone know if the Carrera 2 or 4 has the same capacity? I'm looking at a 2002 cab, will it work?

thanks for your help,
Jim

Nice! I contemplated the Targa, but ended up staying with the CAB, 4S this time. Also took me awhile to figure out the Avatar pic!

Jim re; golf clubs. Also big time golfer here. You can squeeze two sets of clubs behind the seats of a coupe or a CAB, but you've got to remove the 44" drivers and kind of lay them in seperately. Shoes etc go on the floor or on back seats themselves. You'll need all your trunk space for your luggage! Fine for 02 coupe.

Wow, it 's nice to know that Targas can fit a set of two golf bags. Lately, I ve been making good use of the rear space on my C2 after the baby-sized seats are folded down.

Are the 997 Targa tops always translucent ? That was the only drawback why I got the 01 C2, regardless of the convenient hatch feature.

I wonder what the sales ratios are for the Targas compared to the coupe and the cabriolet.

Cheers !
